Why ECOM

IBM expertise, plus everything around it

Most integration problems are not only product problems. They involve data, partners, infrastructure and people. ECOM brings these together:

  • IBM Gold Business Partner

ECOM's partnership with IBM covers integration, API management and file transfer software, and the services around them.

  • Integration specialists

People who build and run integration every day, across IBM Sterling, webMethods, App Connect and API Connect.

  • IBM and PRISM together

ECOM's own PRISM platform can run alongside IBM software, so recommendations fit your environment rather than one product.

  • Hosting and managed operations

ECOM can host and operate integration environments when you would rather not run them yourself.

  • EDI Team as a Service

Specialists who extend your team for development, operations and support on an ongoing basis.

  • Industry experience

Integration for automotive, retail, manufacturing and logistics, with deep automotive experience.

Ways to work with ECOM

  3. Managed service

ECOM operates the environment within an agreed scope, with coverage and response commitments defined in the service agreement.

Each engagement is scoped individually. Not every engagement includes every service listed on this site.

Frequently asked questions

Which IBM products does ECOM work with?

ECOM provides services for IBM Sterling (B2B Integrator, File Gateway, Connect:Direct, Secure Proxy and Transformation Extender), IBM webMethods, IBM API Connect, IBM App Connect, IBM MQ and IBM Maximo. The products, versions and components in scope are confirmed for each engagement.

How is IBM software different from PRISM?

IBM products are IBM's software, licensed from IBM. PRISM is ECOM's own integration platform. ECOM works with both, and recommends one, the other or a combination based on your systems, partners and team.

Is IBM API Connect the same as PRISM-API Gateway?

No. IBM API Connect is IBM's API lifecycle management product. PRISM-API Gateway is ECOM's own API connectivity product within PRISM. They are different products from different vendors.

What happened to The Weather Company?

IBM sold The Weather Company to Francisco Partners in a transaction completed in February 2024. IBM continues to offer weather and climate data through IBM Environmental Intelligence. Weather data integration projects confirm the data provider and products in scope at the start.

Can ECOM run our IBM environment for us?

Yes. ECOM can administer and support IBM integration environments as a managed service or alongside your team through EDI Team as a Service. Scope, coverage and response commitments are defined in the service agreement.
